Tristan's first birthday

Image
Well, folks, Tristan is now one! Yay! His actual birthday was spent at the Phillies game. He really enjoyed the Game against the Minnesota Twins. It was a sad ending for the Phillies, however, because the Twins won. :( Oh, well, Tristan still had a great birthday and we were very excited for him to be one. We were also excited about his upcoming birthday party which followed his big day by one week. We celebrated with friends and family by the pool at a froggy themed swim party. Tristan was quite the show-off in the pool and Nana and Poppy and Uncle Paul and Aunt Ashley made the trip up north for the occasion. It was a blast. Other than Tristan burning his finger on the candle, he had a very fun Birthday celebration. And he is such a cute one year old!

Daytrips and Daydreams

These past few weeks have been glorious weather. Except for a few thundershowers here and there, the sun has been out and everything is green and vibrant. The kind of days that make me want to lay by the pool and Daydream. Don't get to do that too often, however, we have been outside a lot enjoying nature, and we have gotten to the pool a few times. Tristan's favorite new thing is picking strawberries out back. He doesn't understand where they come from, but every day there have been some red ones for him to pick and eat fresh. If we go out more than once a day he wants to pick the unripe ones, because they are the only ones left. I try to explain that they aren't ripe yet, but he doesn't quite get it. We took a family daytrip to Hershey Chocolate world and to Gettysburg. Tristan got his first taste of a chocolate bar and loved seeing the elementary school students on field trip everywhere we went. Daytrips are, however, exhausting for me and J. It's fun to get ...

Movie talk

Image
My mom watches movies like they are dialogues. I enjoy this. She will tell what is going to happen next as if she wrote the script. Of course, she didn't, and sometimes her predictions are wrong, but she always states these predictions as fact. When I watch movies with other people, I often ask what's going to happen next. When faced with these plot inquiries, Jason tells me, "I don't know, I've never seen this movie before." Well, that doesn't stop Mom! :)
