Changing times and Trust

Image
Sitting here, sipping morning cocoa and doing some devotions I realized that the Starbucks mug I am drinking out of is now an antique. Pretty exciting! I love change, especially something like this that doesn't actually change my life in any way, and unlike other changes that make me feel old, this one just makes me feel more experienced. Like I've actually lived through something. Which is silly, because I'm sure it will be one of the least memorable events as I look over my life (Princess Di passing, September 11, 2001, and the inauguration of our first biracial president), but I still got excited about it. In case you haven't seen here's the changed logo as of 2011. Well, that has nothing to do with trust, and I need to get to that part of the post before Tristan who is in his bed right now cooing happily begins screaming impatiently. Psalm 37. Amazing. Don't fret about evildoers just live for Christ! God will take care of the righteous and those that wait o...

We are officially a one nap family

For months I have been told that Tristan doesn't need two naps a day and that he will grow out of this stage soon. "Some toddlers don't take naps", "one nap is all a mother can ask for". As I listened politely to this commentary, my son continued to take two solid naps a day. Well, not anymore! He has officially transitioned into napping once a day for a few hours and that's it. His energy is immense! He still gets very tired and cranky in the evenings. The time between dinner and bed is often full of frustration for him, but that has always been his wiring, he is a morning person all the way. The nap situation doesn't really change that. Anyway, pretty monumental for me, because before the holidays I was spoiled by two naps. One I would share with him and one that I could do work or excercise without him under my feet. Gone are those days:) I guess I'm excited, though, because Tristan is growing up and he is such a big boy. I am proud of him.
