Getting in some family time

Tomorrow morning we are headed to Philly! Can't wait to see Grandma and Grandpa and cousins aunts and uncles, even a few friends. Yay! Then down to DC to see Mom and Ash and Paul and sweet Acadia. Started off the adventure tonight getting to see Dad here in the Springs:) So good!

Father, We Thank You

For flowers that bloom around our feet, Father, we thank You. For tender grass so fresh and sweet, Father, we thank You. For song of bird and hum of bee, For all things fair we hear or see, Father in heaven, we thank You. For blue of stream and blue of sky, Father, we thank You. For pleasant shade of branches high, Father, we thank You. For fragrant air and cooling breeze, For beauty of the blooming trees, Father in heaven, we thank You. For rest and shelter of the night, Father, we thank You. For this new morning with its light, Father, we thank You. For healh and food, for love and friends, For everything Your goodness sends, Father in heaven, we thank You. Ralph Waldo Emerson Today the kids and I spent a lovely morning at the pond. We saw two sunbathing turtles, goldfish, tadpoles and some canada geese. Tristan spotted a deer track on the trail and he almost stepped on the biggest chipmunk I've ever seen. Turns out there were six chipmunks running around. They were all larger t...

The God Moments

It is the "God Moments" in life that I live for. God is so awesome! Sometimes walking in faith is really difficult, but so worth it. This week God has just wowed me. I was muddling through a concept in my daily devotions, just like, HUH? God, you gotta help me out here. I literally prayed that on Friday morning, then we attended Good Friday Tenebrae and the lights just went off, DING! God is awesome! Yesterday I learned that my neighbor is in the same encouragement group at church as me. So random and SO God! These little coincidences in life, light bulb moments. Don't take them for granted. Acknowledge our good and gracious and all-sufficient God!

Happy Easter

What a beautiful sunny Easter day, just what you could want. The children were a tease to photograph, but I think this one is my favorite. They are just looking over to daddy who came in from hiding Easter eggs.

The ides of March

Well, it's April now, but I never would have imagined the snow that we have today. Only a few inches, but still, it was a very warm weekend to be followed by this winter storm. We enjoyed the warmth of the weekend. Spent a lot of time working in the yard and also visited the bluffs around the lake in Pueblo. As you can see from the pictures, even though there is water, it is not green:) The bluffs were beautiful and Pikes Peak was still visible from down there. Anytime I can see Pikes Peak, I am a happy camper. Anastasia is enjoying hiking on her own and loved picking up dry sticks found by the trail. Tristan is beginning to enjoy more challenging hikes. A flat walk down the sidewalk doesn't cut it for him these days. That makes me excited, but the two of them do tire easily. We are excited about the snow today. We've been hoping for one more snow. When Ana wakes up we will go out and play in the cold:) In other news, the Kentucky wildcats pulled it off this year! So awesom...
