Preparing for Baby















This past month has been an exhilirating one for me and Jason and the baby. Everyone's health is good and the baby is extremely active. It's exciting for Jason to be able to feel the baby kicking as well.

Since we know it's a boy, we have started prepping the baby room and getting some supplies. The theme we have picked for our baby room is monkeys, and thanks to some awesome Christmas gifts, the baby/guest bathroom is prepped. I have also begun purchasing clothes, scouring the sales racks of almost every store. I've found some really cute stuff!
I was also able to find a pack and play at the local consignment shop in blue! It has all kinds of fun additional features, like a canopy and a music/light pack. God has been good, and I am getting excited about the arrival of the little guy!
Valentine's day marks the official beginning of the third trimester. I pray that it is as healthy and fun as the last few months have been. I will keep you posted.

I love the theme! Consignment shops are great,the ones around here aren't that good.Keep sending pictures of that belly!

Catoctin Mountain Park, Thurmont MD

I'm back, after a long break. I wanted to share this awesome park with you. Catoctin Mountain Park in Thurmont, Maryland. Located right off of Route 15 this park is just down the Highway from Gettysburg and is worth the trip! The park offers hiking for various skill levels and is free admission. The kids had a lovely time creek walking along the Blue Blazes Whiskey Still trail, which is accessible from the visitor center parking lot. They were all able to become junior rangers as well. The visitor center has a history and nature display. I've never seen a beaver that close, even if it was stuffed, it was cool!  Catoctin Mountain park borders Cunningham falls state park . Lewis and Clark

It began with our being half-way through the book on the Louisiana purchase on the last day of school. Our interest was peaked and I hated to skip the books about Lewis and Clark that we did not have time to read during last school year, so... The book about the Louisiana Purchase is titled: What's the Deal Jefferson and Napoleon and the Louisiana Purchase , by Rhoda Blumberg. I would classify this book as a textbook. We read it in small portions each day. Then we read a few chapter books about Lewis and Clark and some of the other characters in the Corps of Discovery, namely, Seaman, Meriweather Lewis' Newfoundland dog.
