Happy New Year (Let's hope it sticks)

So.... Last year I opened out blogging, and it didn't last through the 1st week of January. This is a new year and so, I'm giving it another go. My good friend (whom I miss very much!) challenged me to blog 15 minutes a day. Naptime blogging. Well, let's hope it sticks!
A 2011 year in review, I started the year miserably pregnant!! So, Mom-mom and Pop-pop flew us down to Florida for a week. We got two unplanned days due to weather, and it was an amazing time!
Anastasia Grace Pickering was born April 23 (the day before Easter). She kept us all waiting 9 days past due date, and arrived only 11 hours after her cousin Acadia Hegstad (who was early:) We are so blessed by her life!
Tristan celebrated his 2nd birthday with friends and family at "grandmom's" playground in June, and Jason went with dad Pennington to the US Open in Washington DC.
Tristan and Anastasia and I spent many sunny, hot days at Mom-mom and Pop-pop's pool with friends and family Jason applied to a job in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Jason's brother Steve was engaged in July (and his brother Dan got engaged early September).
End of September, Jason was offered the job and we accepted the job offer beginning of October.
Our househunting trip came mid october and by Halloween, we were on our way to Colorado. We stayed in a beautiful hotel for two weeks before moving into our home. Things were pretty much unpacked by Thanksgiving, but we were not able to make the trip East for the Holiday or for Jason's Grandfather's funeral (the day after Thanksgiving).
December brought snow to the Springs and Tristan LOVES snow. Thankfully the weather was clear on the 15th when we flew home for the holidays. Our Christmas visit began with Steve's wedding! Tristan's second and Anastasia's first wedding. The ceremony was beautiful as was the weather in Norhern Virginia (despite the cold) and we are so excited for Steve and Lynn. Christmas was celebrated in Pennsylvania. We did not have a "white Christmas" but the day was beautiful. "There's no place like home for the holidays"
We are stoked about what the New Year holds.
I'll try to keep things updated.
