Letters M, N and P,

I guess I've been falling off the band wagon of blogging about our "schooling". We've been keeping up with our letters in a more relaxed way. Last week (the week of Ana's birthday) we learned about the letter P and it was a busy week. Monday we talked about our last name beginning with the letter P and then Tuesday we had Ana's Party. Wednesday we had a get-together at Panera bread and that was our P for the day, Thursday we Painted Thank-you cards and that ended the P week. We did not get fun books at the library about the letter, nor did we do any worksheets or coloring pages. M week began well, and then fell off a little. We started with a coloring sheet about Baby Moses and I read the story while they colored. This seems to be an effective way for me to get a Bible story into the morning. Then we made Pumpkin Muffins and learned the Muffin Man rhyme, that's about where it ended. Letter N week was cool. We focused on the amazing Narwhal and had a coloring page and also got some books and a great National Geographic film about the arctic whales/animals. We talked about Nests and different animals that make nests to live in and raise babies. I created a felt nest with ten Robin blue eggs that we practiced our counting, adding, and subtracting. Anastasia is finally counting to ten with confidence, which makes me happy. We also created a cute Noah's ark with a paper plate, the ark was kind-of a cut out silhouette in the middle and then the top half circle of the plate made the rainbow. We pasted on animal pictures, two of each. It was cool.
