Father, We Thank You

For flowers that bloom around our feet,
Father, we thank You.
For tender grass so fresh and sweet,
Father, we thank You.
For song of bird and hum of bee,
For all things fair we hear or see,
Father in heaven, we thank You.
For blue of stream and blue of sky,
Father, we thank You.
For pleasant shade of branches high,
Father, we thank You.
For fragrant air and cooling breeze,
For beauty of the blooming trees,
Father in heaven, we thank You.
For rest and shelter of the night,
Father, we thank You.
For this new morning with its light,
Father, we thank You.
For healh and food, for love and friends,
For everything Your goodness sends,
Father in heaven, we thank You.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Today the kids and I spent a lovely morning at the pond. We saw two sunbathing turtles, goldfish, tadpoles and some canada geese. Tristan spotted a deer track on the trail and he almost stepped on the biggest chipmunk I've ever seen. Turns out there were six chipmunks running around. They were all larger than any chipmunks I've seen. Still cute.
