Final Resting Place

The story according to Tristan. "The butterfly was flying around the stepping stone, then it landed on the stepping stone and then the ants started to eat it." This story was not confirmed by daddy, but what is for sure, this beautiful butterfly is resting on our stepping stone. A beautiful final resting place.
Yesterday, while walking with the children I got a few pictures of the burn scar from our side of the mountain. You can see in this picture the blackened landscape against some of the untouched green trees. It is amazing to see how close there are burned trees to homes that were untouched. Our firefighters did an amazing job saving homes during the fire.
