Letter H and Luck O' the Irish Ice Cream

Last week we spent half of the week (after vacation) learning about the letter H. We didn't make it to the Library, so I don't have book references for this week. Our home library is full of books about Horses, we also read a book about Pacific ocean / Hawaiian marine life as well as the April issue of Highlights. I guess those fit into the theme. We colored hippopotamuses and helicopters and my favorite craft involved gluing shapes onto a piece of cardstock to make a house. The triangle roof, rectangle door, square windows and a little circle in the roof to make the attic vent.
Saturday we visited a new coffee shop that opened up in our neighborhood (I'll dedicate a post to that soon) and I realized Sunday was St. Patrick's Day. I added a shamrock cookie to my cappuccino order and proceeded to tell the children about St. Patrick, Ireland and the Druids. I hope I remembered the story right? Anyway, Sunday came and I forgot to even wear green! Jason, always clutch, remembered the holiday and treated me to a redbox movie night. I made Luck O' The Irish ice-cream because the grocery store didn't have and Ben and Jerry's Dublin Mudslide (the only ice cream worth buying!).  Anyway, here is my outstanding and easy recipe!! Enjoy.

2cups half and half
1cup milk
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 packets Land O Lakes Irish Cream cocoa

Stir all ingredients in a large bowl. Pour into Ice cream machine and presto!
