C week
My blog is a week behind. C week is past now, but I would like to continue blogging about each week of schooling, because I learn so much from other people sharing ideas, I want to put mine out there too:) C week turned out to be a very busy week and things got a little hectic around here. We did get to do some handwriting practice sheets, learning about the three special sounds that the letter C makes, and Tristan remembered the sign for the letter C (which made me so proud!!). Our big activity this week: Cardboard box cars! Tons of fun driving them around the kitchen and taking them to the mechanic shop every ten minutes, because one wheel came off or another. We also enjoyed a book by Margaret Hillert entitled The Little Cowboy and the Big Cowboy. The landscape in the pictures look a lot like what we see every day here in Colorado. We have read somewhat extensively in the past about Chimpanzees and Jane Goodall's work with them, but we had to get another book about Chimpanzees this week. If you are unfamiliar with Jane Goodall, I would recommend the website: www.janegoodall.org or the book My Life as a Chimpanzee, by Jane Goodall. We also learned about Cougars (also known as Mountain Lions or Pumas). Very cool stuff!
I am excited to get started on the letter D! Enjoy the pics.
