A good day

If Tuesday was a bad day, yesterday was a good day for the fire. The fire has done some damage, but it did not grow much last night and the fire fighters are optimistic about the progress they can make today. Yesterday's morning breifing looked and sounded grim, this morning things were looking up. With 1,200 fire fighters working on this fire, air support and favorable winds, the hope remains that the Waldo Canyon fire will be better contained by the end of today. We are praying this is true. We can still see some plumes of smoke showing active fire about 10 miles away across the valley from us. It is close to some homes on the air force academy and last night we could clearly see the fireengine lights over there fighting that spot of fire. There are other places that the fire is still raging that are not in our sight line, behind the mountains. We are hopeful, but a lot of work still needs too be done before this fire is contained. Everyone has the firefighters in our thoughts and prayers.
