Sunshine again!
Four pm this afternoon looked a lot different than four pm yesterday. Yesterday the smoke billowed over the mountains blocking the light of the sun and sending people fleeing for their lives in southeast Colorado Springs. This afternoon the sky began to clear. After all day of air fumigated with smoke and the mystery of where the fire is burning and where it's going it was a relief to be able to open up the house and see the blue sky again. After dinner I even took the children on a walk around the neighborhood. As the situation looks from here, it seems the fire is staying west of us and will probably not cross far enough east to affect where we live. I guess that could change, the fire marshall and police cheif said this morning that they expect this fire to burn for a few more days, "it is not contained, don't be decieved". They are doing excellent work, and many homes are being saved in the fire zone. Also, no one has lost their life and that is an amazing testimony to the emergency worker's efforts.
