Day 7 Pikes peak is glowing

As dawn breaks this Friday morning, day 7 of the Waldo canyon Fire, Pikes peak is a burnt orange in the morning light. It looks like it's old self again. The only thing I can see as evidence of the fire is a little bit of smoke in the valleys between the mountains. If I didn't know there was a forest fire I would think it was just a morning mist about the moutains. This photo was taken last evening.
Yesterday, my optimism was not in vain, the fire is now 15% contained people in the Air Force Academy (right across the highway from me) will return home today and hopefully the favorable weather will continue. Yesterday there were midday thunderstorms that brought rain and humidity to our area. We were at 26% humidity at one point. The most humid I've ever felt in Colorado! That really helped things for the firefighters. It is so sad that one person is confirmed dead and there are a handful others unaccounted for. The news people keep saying that "a home is replacable, but you cannot put a value on life". We were hoping all lives had been saved. Please pray for the families who lost their homes and who have unnaccounted for relatives. Also pray for the police as they manage the reentry and secure the evacuated areas against looting. Hopefully, we will continue to contain the fire and no more property will be damaged.
